Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Memocache ("the app") is published by MemoCache ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app and this website handle, where it goes, and the choices you have.
The short version
- There is no Memocache account. We don't ask for your name or email address.
- Your cards, notes and review history stay on your device.
- Your Notion token is stored in your device's secure storage and sent only to Notion.
- We collect anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics, which you can turn off.
- We don't show ads, don't use an advertising ID and don't track you across apps or websites.
Information stored only on your device
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Flashcards, decks and anything you write in the app, including photos you attach | To show and schedule your cards |
| Review history, streaks, shields and settings | To schedule reviews and show your progress |
| Your Notion integration token | To sync the pages you choose. Kept in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore |
This information isn't sent to us. It's deleted when you use Settings → Clear entire data or uninstall the app. You can export your review progress as a JSON file from Settings; that file goes wherever you choose to share it.
Information sent to third parties at your request
Notion. When you connect Notion and tap Sync now, the app sends your token directly from your device to Notion's API (api.notion.com) to read the pages you selected. Notion's handling of that data is covered by Notion's own privacy policy. We never receive your token or your page content.
Apple App Store / Google Play. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
Information we collect
| Data | Collected through | Purpose | Linked to you? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crash reports: stack trace, device model, OS and app version | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | Find and fix bugs | No |
| Usage statistics: app opens and sessions | Firebase Analytics (Google) | Understand overall usage | No |
| App-instance identifier (a random ID created by Firebase) | Firebase | Count unique installs, attribute crashes | No |
| Purchase record: store, product ID and transaction or purchase token | Our purchase-validation server (iap.appsgate.link) | Confirm Premium with Apple or Google and unlock it | No |
| Remote configuration request | Firebase Remote Config | Decide which plans to offer | No |
Crash reports and usage statistics never include your card content, page titles or Notion token.
Your choice: turn off Settings → Privacy → Share crash reports & usage data at any time. Crash reporting and analytics then stop for that device. The purchase record is needed to provide Premium and is sent only when you buy or restore a purchase.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
This website
This website has no accounts and no forms. If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage) so the next page uses it. It never leaves your browser.
Google Analytics. This website uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>) that last up to two years, and it sends Google your browser and device details, your approximate location and the pages you view. We use this only for aggregate statistics, and it is separate from the app's analytics. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on.
Permissions the app asks for
- Photos and camera: only when you choose to add an image to a card you're writing. The image stays on your device.
- Notifications (iOS): only to show the number of cards due today on the app icon badge. The app doesn't send alerts or sounds.
Data retention
Firebase keeps crash reports for 90 days and analytics data for up to 14 months. Purchase-validation records are kept for as long as needed to provide Premium and meet legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we hold no account and no information that identifies you directly, most data can be deleted by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. For anything else, including deleting analytics data linked to your device's app-instance ID, contact us at [email protected].
Deleting your data
In the app: go to Settings → Clear entire data and type DELETE to confirm. This removes everything the app stores on your device. Uninstalling the app does the same.
Data we hold: to ask us to delete crash or usage data linked to your device, email [email protected]. We'll confirm when it's done.
Children
Memocache isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We'll update this page when the app's data practices change and revise the date at the top.
